MSM index ends lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended lower by 0.66 per cent to close at 3,840.18 points.
The MSM Shariah Index closed at 519.19 points down 0.18 per cent. Muscat Finance was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover for the day.
Al Jazeera Services, up 2.80 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was HSBC Bank Oman, which lost 4.17 per cent.
A total of 443 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR1.33 million with more than 8.35 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 2 rose, 16 fell and 14 were unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR308,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR200,000 followed by foreigner investors for OMR108,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index decreased 0.65 per cent to end at 6,275.40 points. Alizz Islamic Bank up by 2.44 per cent, was the sole gainer. HSBC Bank Oman, Al Madina Investment, Oman And Emirates Inv. Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Gulf Invest Services Holding declined 4.17 per cent, 3.85 per cent, 2.6 per cent, 2.04 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 4,504.60 points, down by 0.74 per cent. There were no gainers today. Voltamp Energy, Raysut Cement, Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering lost 3.95 per cent, 2.58 per cent, 1.69 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively.
Services Index had a loss of 0.43 per cent to close at 1,965.20 points. Al Jazeera Services up by 2.8 per cent, was the sole gainer. Sembcorp Salalah, Omantel, Al Batinah Power and Ooredoo lost 3.33 per cent, 1.89 per cent, 1.27 per cent and 0.44 per cent respectively.
