Fire erupts in Barka warehouse

Muscat: A fire has erupted at a warehouse in Barka, with details still emerging about the incident.

A statement by the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance read, "The authority's directorate in South Al Batinah has received a report of a fire at a Barka warehouse.

"Teams from the authority have started firefighting efforts. More details will be released," the statement added.

A spokesman from the authority told Times of Oman, "Our firefighting teams are still on the scene and working to combat the fire. Currently, few details are available but as we will update as soon as the fire is successfully put out."
