Dubai: Oman’s National Transport Company “Mwasalat” and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai have launched the Dubai-Muscat bus route, which will boost road transport and facilitate passenger traffic between the two sides.
This came during the signing ceremony of the transportation agreement between the two companies in Dubai on Monday.
The agreement was signed from the Omani side by Ahmed bin Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Mwasalat while from Dubai side it was signed by Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency.
Al Balushi expressed his pleasure to sign this agreement, stressing the keenness of Mwasalat on the safety and comfort of passengers travelling between the Sultanate and the United Arab Emirates on sophisticated and safe buses, specially designed for long distance passengers.
He hoped that this step is the beginning of an integrated project for the transport network between the two brotherly countries.
For his part, Ahmed Bahrozyan said that the agreement is an important step in the expansion and strengthening of the international transport network between the two countries.
He stressed the keenness of the RTA in the Emirate of Dubai to provide convenient transportation for passengers travelling between the cities of Dubai and Muscat.
He pointed out that the buses will start from the Abu Hail bus station in Dubai and the price of one ticket per person will be 55 AED.
