Mantheri visit boosts ties with Russia

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantehri, Chairman of the State Council returned from Russia on Saturday after concluding a four-day official visit in response to an invitation of the Chairperson of Russian Federation Council, Valentina Ivanova Matvienko.
During the visit, the delegation held meetings with Chairperson of Russian Federation Council, Valentina Ivanova Matvienko, Sergey Neverov, Vice-Chairman of State Duma and Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of foreign affairs.
He also delivered a speech at the Federation Council which highlighted the growth in Oman-Russia relations in multiple areas. State Council members Nada Hassan Mohammed Al Jamali, Dr. Ahmed Ali Mohammed Al Mashikhi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Harthy, Dr. Hasan Ali Mohammed Al Madhani and Dr. Badria Ibrahim Khalfan Al Shihi comprised the delegation.
Mantheri and his accompanying delegation were received at the Muscat international airport by the two Vice Chairmen of the council, the Secretary-General and the ambassador of the Federal Russia to the Sultanate.
