Farm tour updates officials on date palm project progress

Ibra: The Directorate General for the One Million Date Palm Trees Project organised an informative tour to Ibra Farm in the Governorate of North Al Sharqiya.
The tour comes within the informative tours organised by the Diwan of Royal Court, represented by the Directorate General for the One Million Date Palm Trees Project.
The event was attended by Sheikh Yahya bin Hamood Al Mamari, Governor of North Al Sharqiya, a number of members of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, Walis, members of the Municipal Council and officials from the government departments and private sector.
Dr. Saif bin Rashid Al Shaqsi, Director General of the Project delivered a presentation on the project’s economic, environmental and social benefits along with the contributions of the project to food security.
In his presentation, Dr. Al Shaqsi pointed to the major challenges facing the project and how such challenges were addressed. He also spoke on the investment horizons in the project.
The tour to Ibra Farm comes on the conclusion of the informative tours and aimed to familiarise the local community, where the project’s farms are located with the significance and objectives of the project.
