Mantheri calls upon private sector to promote trade ties with South Korea

Muscat: Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received in his Office yesterday a delegation from the Korean-Omani Parliamentary Friendship Group headed by Dr. Yoon Sang-hyun.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the State Council hailed the relations between the Sultanate and the Republic of Korea, hoping that the visit would achieve the desired objectives of expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two friendly countries, based on the existing cooperation between them in scientific and economic fields.
He urged the private sector in both countries to invest and promote trade exchange, and encourage tourists to visit Oman in light of its tourist attractions.
For his part, the head of the Korean-Omani Parliamentary Friendship Group expressed his country’s appreciation for the Sultanate’s role under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in supporting regional stability and enhancing international peace and security.
He said that his current visit comes within the framework of keenness to consolidate bilateral ties and enhance cooperation between them in many fields, pointing to the importance of educational and research cooperation between the two countries through mutual scholarships and cooperation in tourism.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Dr. Al Khattab bin Ghalib Al Hinai, Deputy Chairman of the State Council, Ahmad bin Mahfoudh Al Saleh, Prof. Said bin Mubarak Al Mahrami and Doho Kang, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Sultanate.
