Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher and closed at 3,970.49 points, up by 0.79 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 539.10 points, up by 0.81 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, up 4.82 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Takaful Oman Insurance, which lost 7.97 per cent.
A total number of 664 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.68 million with more than 12.71 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 19 advanced, 3 declined and 10 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net buyers for OMR64,000 followed by foreigners for OMR52,000 worth of shares, while Omani were net sellers for OMR116,000.
Financial Index closed higher by 0.67 per cent at 6,494.41 points. HSBC Bank Oman, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Ahli Bank, Bank Muscat and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were up by 1.72 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.63 per cent, 1.5 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively. Takaful Oman Insurance and Muscat Finance were down by 7.97 per cent and 3.57 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was higher by 1.19 per cent at 4,4767.85 points. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles, Raysut Cement, Oman Cement, Galfar Engineering and Oman Fisheries were up by 4.82 per cent, 4.72 per cent, 3.89 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 1.43 per cent respectively. Oman Cables Industry were down by 3.43 per cent.
Services Index closed at 1,978.32 points, up by 0.48 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, OIFC and Omantel were up by 4.35 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 2.3 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.66 per cent respectively. There were no losers on Sunday.
