Do you know when the next holiday will be?

Muscat: As citizens and residents return to work after a two-day holiday on the occasion of Isra' wal Miraj, some are eagerly looking forward to the next long holiday.

The next official holiday will be Eid Al Fitr, which will either fall on June 4 or 5, 2019. The date will be determined by the Lunar calendar. Eid Al Fitr is on the first day of the month Shawwal.

Article 1 of the Royal Decree No 27/2006 on the amendments of official holidays states that the holidays are:
- Islamic New Year, which falls on the first of Muharram.
- The birth of the prophet (PBUH), which falls on the 12th of Rabi Al Awal.
- Isra' wal Miraj, which falls on the 27th of Rajab.
- The Renaissance Day, which falls on July 23.
- National Day, which falls on November 18 and 19.
