Muscat: The National Ferries Company (NFC) will provide additional services on the Shinas-Khasab and Khasab-Diba-Lima routes to cater for the expected increase in demand during the upcoming holidays.
The announcement was made days before Oman celebrates the anniversary of Al Isra’a Wal Miraj, which will be celebrated on April 3 and April 4, according to the Royal Orders of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
In a statement, the NFC said, “The company will increase the number of trips to its destinations during the week of the public holiday, in response to travellers’ requirements to open up new and suitable options.”
Nabhan bin Mohammed Al Nabhani, Director of Media and Public Relations at NFC said that the schedule of operations included 84 trips, including trips on the Shinas-Khasab route, which will provide 792 seats and room for 152 vehicles.
He added that eight trips will also be added between Diba and Lima, adding around 800 seats capacity.
Another eight trips will be added on Khasab-Diba-Lima route, which will provide room for 800 passengers and 54 vehicles.
