Omani driver clinches top prize in Qatar rally

Qatar: Omani rally driver Jarrah ALToqi with his navigator Issa Alwardi has clinched the first place in national category in Qatar international rally, meanwhile his colleague Zakaria AlAmri with co-driver Abdullah AlAmri won the second place in the rally which had been organised in Qatar for 3 days last week.
The Qatari champion Nasser AlAttya won the international rally of Qatar after leading the rally in all 11 stages throughout Qatar for 3 days. Another Omani young driver Abdullah AlRawahi finished the rally fifth in group ‘N’.
Because of technical problems, 5 other Omani drivers left the rally early , as Zakaria AlAufi ended his participation from the super special stage because of gearbox problem, meanwhile Humaid Alwaili’s services been ended early in the second day cause of technical problem.
Said Alharthi on Evo 10 with Navigator Said AlHinai left the rally in the last day as his shock observer had been broken in the first stage after 500 meter from the start, during the second day. English driver Shaun, also left the rally as his car was in the garage for maintenance and was not ready to compete in the last day race. Another bad day for the driver Hamid AlQasimi and his co-driver Yaqdhan AlRashidi when he left the rally in final stage as a small fire caught his car engine, which ended his dream to reach the podium in Souq waqif in the capital Doha.
The first day of the rally was for startup ceremony and super special stage, where Nasser AlAttya was the fastest on polo car and the second day consisted of two stages, reaped 2 times in AlRuwais and AlGhariya.
Jarrah Altoqi led the Local rally drivers in day two followed by Zakaria AlAmri.
