How To Design Your Own Jars In Oman

Maybe you've just moved into a new flat or perhaps it's just time for a spring refresh, either way, there are some fantastic ways to re-use items you already have at home to make custom decorations. Here we'll inspire you to "do-it-yourself" with simple, fun projects that are as easy on the wallet as they are on the eyes.

Jars come in many shapes and sizes, from slim, plain cylinders of spreadable cheese to intricate glass jam jars, to humble pickle pots. Instead of throwing them in the bin, wash your glass jars, scrubbing off the labels with hot, soapy water, and keep them to make customise one of the below home accent pieces that will look great as part of a table setting for a themed dinner, on bedroom night stands, or on coffee tables.—[email protected]

Rock-and-Roll Candle Garden
What you need:
• A clean jar of any size
• Small, smooth stones or beads (for a more shimmery look)
• Candles

How-To
• Clean the jar well with soapy water, removing any stickers, and leave to dry.
• Fill the jar with stones or beads. You can alternate colours or even materials for a more textured look. Add one large candle or several small.
* TIP: Fill with sand in place of stones and add a thick, plain white candle inside for instant mood lighting. The sand will prevent the jar from getting too hot.

Spin-me-a-tale Vase
What you need:
• 1 ½ cup of water
• Empty bowl
• White glue
• Coloured yarns
• A clean jar of any size
•Fresh flowers

How-To
• Pour water into a medium bowl and add two tablespoons of white glue.
• Add the coloured yarns into the water-glue mixture.
• Start wrapping the glue-soaked yarn in a circular pattern around the jar from the top all the way down, making sure the entire glass is well-wrapped.
• Set aside to dry for about two hours.
• Add clean water in the jar and then fill with fresh flowers.
* TIP: You can also use coloured tapes alternatively to cover the jar, remember to use gluing gun to wrap the tapes around it.

Not-your-average Planter
What you need:
• Jars with interesting pattern
• Organic fertilizer
• Small plants such as flowers, mint, or basil

How-To
• Clean your jar and then fill half-way up with organic fertilizer
• Plant your herbs or flower plants in the jar.
* TIP: Plant a different herb in each of several small mason jars and use them to line your window for a modern, easy to maintain herb garden.
