Muscat: Residents of Al Hail who are currently experiencing power outages will only have electricity return to their houses in another 90 minutes, due to repairs to the power grid.
Although parts of Muscat have lacked power since 8am this morning, repairs in Al Hail were expected to be completed by 2pm.
“Unfortunately, the work has been happening since 8am this morning, and there was some extra work to be done, so we have to finish that,” said an official from Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC).
“We know that the power was supposed to come back on at 2pm, but our engineers are on site, and they say it will take about one and a half hours more. After that, the power will come back.”
In addition to Al Hail, temporary outages were also announced for Azaiba, where power was expected to be out from 8am to 2pm, Ghala Industrial Area (8am-2pm), Al Quriyat (8am-2pm) and Al Ghubra North (8am-3pm)
“Our professional engineers are available on site and the supply will be restored as soon as possible,” added MEDC.
