Muscat: A kind-hearted Omani man has donated all of his 5,000 books to a public library, because he wants children to learn as much as they can.
Sheikh Mahmood Al Buraidi donated all his books to the public, by offering them to the Nizwa Public Library, which is expected to open soon.
Al Buraidi has 5000 books in his private library and he generously he decided to donate them all to the library, with Mansoor Al Mufdhali, an administrator at the library, saying, "until now we have about 12,000 books and Mahmood's donation will add more value to the library."
The library is built through contributions from the public, and the administrators say they are planning to open it to the public by August 2019, Al Mufdhali added: "We accept various types of donations from all people such as financial donations, books, and even volunteering efforts in management and organisation of the library, and we need more donations to complete the project."
The library consists of a lecture hall, classrooms and research rooms.
