Oman's share index ends lower marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood lower and closed at 4,160.91 points, down by 0.20 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 563.79 points, up 0.28 per cent. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. Bank Nizwa, up 2.22 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Dhofar Cattle Feed, which lost 19.61 per cent.
A total number of 283 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.43 million with more than 34.29 million shares changing hands. Out of 27 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 12 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR1.05 million, followed by foreign investors for OMR46,000 while Omani investors were net buyers for OMR1.09 million worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.18 per cent at 6,667.37 points. Bank Nizwa, Alizz Islamic Bank and National Bank Of Oman were up by 2.22 per cent, 1.15 per cent and 0.54 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Ahli Bank, Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat were down by 3.33 per cent, 2.07 per cent, 1.72 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.30 per cent at 4,788.38 points. There were no gainers. Dhofar Cattle Feed, Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Galfar Engineering were down 19.61 per cent, 1.35 per cent and 1.33 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.03 per cent at 2,136.02 points. National Gas was up by 0.39 per cent. Sohar Power and OIFC were down 1.8 per cent and 1.22 per cent respectively.
