Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index stood higher and closed at 4,169.13 points, up by 0.07 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index closed at 562.23 points, up 0.09 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Shell Oman Marketing was the most active in terms of turnover. Omantel, up 1.65 per cent, was the top gainer while the top loser was Dhofar Int.Dev.And Inv. Hold., which lost 4 per cent.
A total number of 334 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR2.48 million with more than 12.52 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 10 declined and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR115,000, followed by Omani investors for OMR22,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR137,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed lower by 0.17 per cent at 6,679.22 points. Bank Nizwa was up by 1.12 per cent. Dhofar Int. Dev. And Inv. Hold., HSBC Bank Oman, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Dhofar were down by 4 per cent, 2.4 per cent, 1.12 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index was down by 0.03 per cent at 4,802.70 points. Oman Cement was up by 1.05 per cent. Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles and Salalah Mills were down 1.33 per cent and 1.13 per cent respectively.
Services Index closed lower by 0.14 per cent at 2,136.61 points. Omantel, and Ooredoo were up by 1.65 per cent and 0.75 per cent respectively. Phoenix Power, Shell Oman Marketing, OIFC and Dhofar Generating Company were down 2.13 per cent, 1.65 per cent, 1.2 per cent and 0.93 per cent respectively.
