One arrested for driving across wadi

Muscat: One person was arrested for crossing Wadi al Auq dangerously and could see three months in jail, as well as a fine of OMR500.

A statement by Royal Oman Police read, "One driver was arrested for risking his life by crossing Wadi al Auq despite being warned of the dangers. Legal procedure is being carried out in accordance to article 49/8 of traffic law."
According to Article 49/8, "Violators will be punished with no more than three months in jail and a fine of OMR500 or one of these two punishments, when the driver knowingly attempts to cross wadis in a fashion that causes danger to his life or those of passengers in the vehicle."
