MUSCAT: After securing a fifth place finish in the first round of Emirates Rally early this month, Omani rally driver Zakaria Al Amri and his co-driver Abdullah Al Amri driving a Subaru Impreza is all set to participate in the second round of UAE Rally, which will be held in Umm Al Quwain on Friday.
Zakria Al Amri, joined the Oman Rally Championship a fortnight ago where he clinched the third place in his Subaru Impreza and now aims to carry this success to the UAE rallies.
The rally consists of two stages with each stage being repeated three times, Al Raafa will be the first stage of the rally which consists of 13 kilometers of gravel road, which will bring out the best of the experienced drivers.
The second stage of the rally will be held in Al Khour a 17-kilometer of rough terrain with some open spaces, after completing the stage the vehicles will be taken to the service area for maintenance after that back to the next stage of the rally.
“I am happy be apart in the UAE Rally Championship and looking forward to a podium finish, but as everybody knows that there is no definite results in any car sport”, he added .
