MUSCAT: Renaissance and MDC Enhance Eagles scored emphatic wins in the A Division League games while undefeated Pakistan School Muscat beat MCCC by 3 wickets to win the Junior League Under-19 title in an action-packed weekend in Amerat.
Amandeep Singh struck a solid 65 to lay the foundation for a sizeable total by Renaissance which was all out for 260 in the 50th over. Dushan Praveena (45) and Kurukulasuriya (25) were the other notable scorers. Ishara Fernando claimed three wickets.
Sinha was rocked by Azhar Uddin’s opening spell, leaving the veteran side reeling at 33 for 3 in the 8th over before being dismissed for 223 in the 46th over. Nalaka Pathum topscored with 65 off 82 before being retired hurt. Nalinda Prasad (45) and Prabath Indika (35) were its other notable scorers. Azhar bagged 3 for 59 while Kurukulasuriya took two wickets.

Ghazanfar shines
Veteran Ghazanfar Iqbal slammed a whirlwind 80 off only 36 balls to power MDC Enhance Eagles to an exciting 3-wicket victory against Zawawi Powertech Engineering at OC Turf 2 on Friday.
Batting first, Zawawi failed to put a big total on the board, getting dismissed for 176 in the 45th over. Banty Nandy led the batting honours with a patient 53 off 85. Parameshwaran Shankar was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for 28 while Amanpreet Singh bowled well too, claiming 3 for 33.
Former Oman all-rounder Ghazanfar led the chase, hitting 9 fours and 6 big sixes in a brilliant match-winning knock as Eagles surpassed the target in the 26th over, scoring 180 for 7. Nishad KS bagged three wickets for Zawawi.

PSM win
Young batting stalwart Muhammed Muzahir Raza (81 off 103 balls) helped Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) to yet another victory as his side defeated MCCC ARTT by 3 wickets to maintain its unbeaten run and win the Junior League Under-19 title in great style.
PSM topped the final team standings with 24 points from 6 games, followed by Indian School Wadi Kabir in the second spot with 20 points and Indian School Muscat with 16 points from 6 matches.
Arjun Suresh hit up 59 as MCCC scored 195 all out in the 43rd over. PSM captain Adeel Abbas picked up 3 for 48 while Shozaib Sohail took 2 for 12.
Batting at Number three, Muzahir was rock solid in steering his side to safety in a tense game. PSM finally overhauled the target in the 44th over, scoring 196 for 7 with Obaid Ullah contributing a fluent 51 off 63. Mohammed Adil, Shreyash Samir and Arjun Rajesh all claimed two wickets each.
