Muscat: After GoAir, Air India Express has announced direct flights from Muscat International Airport to Kannur International Airport (KIAL) in Kerala from April 2, 2019.
According to a circular from Air India Express, Flight IX713 Kannur-Muscat will leave Kannur airport at 5.35pm and will land in Muscat at 7.50pm, while the return IX714 Muscat-Kannur flight will depart at 8.50pm from Muscat and will land at Kannur at 2.05am. The three flights a week will be operational on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
GoAir, a budget airline from India, earlier announced that it would be operating three flights a week to Kannur from March 1, 2019. The flights will be on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays and the fare begins from OMR29 (one way) from Muscat to Kerala.
Kannur International Airport is the fourth international airport in the South Indian state of Kerala, after Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode.
Earlier, GoAir had announced that it will operate seven flights a week to Kannur International Airport in Kerala from Muscat International Airport. The operation will start from February 1, according to Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation.
The low-cost international carrier is owned by Indian business conglomerate Wadia Group.
