Oman's share index ends higher marginally

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher at 4,181.74 points by 0.06 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 576.37 points, down by 0.12 per cent. Ahli Bank was the most active in terms of volume while Omantel was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer was Omantel which closed higher by 2.94 per cent while the top loser was Gulf Invest Services Holding which closed lower by 5.08 per cent.
A total number of 366 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.16 million with more than 5.75 million shares changing hands. Out of 32 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 13 declined and 17 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR232,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR76,000 while GCC and Arab investors were net sellers for OMR308,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.11 per cent to at 6,725.71 points. There were no gainers on Tuesday. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Al Madina Investment, Al Anwar Holding and Al Madina Takaful were down by 5.08 per cent, 3.13 per cent, 2.22 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.17 per cent to close at 4,921.69 points. Oman Fisheries was up by 1.85 per cent. Galfar Engineering, and Oman Flour Mills were down by 2.6 per cent and 0.63 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.45 per cent to close at 2,155.32 points. Omantel was up 2.94 per cent. OIFC, Renaissance Services, National Gas, Al Batinah Power and Almaha Petroleum Products were down by 2.5 per cent, 2.41 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 2.06 per cent and 1.72 per cent respectively.
