Muscat: An American gymnast’s amazing routine has gone viral after being viewed more than 30 million times on Twitter.
The joy with which Katelyn Ohashi, a student and gymnast at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), performed her amazing routine involving several backflips, splits, and several funky dance moves has taken social media by storm, and has been viewed 30.6 million times on the official UCLA Gymnastics Twitter account.
Her routine only last for about 45 seconds, but the happiness and tremendous skill she shows while performing it went a long way in entertaining the audience, which immediately broke out into spontaneous, rapturous applause.
However, rather than basking in the ovation she received, Katelyn’s first move after her awesome routine was to high five all of her teammates, and then encourage her fellow gymnasts.
Katelyn’s routine, which was performed at the Collegiate Challenge, helped UCLA win the title, and her success is all the more meaningful, given that she almost quit gymnastics a few years ago when she was burned out because of training for the Olympics.
Just last year, Katelyn helped UCLA win the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championships, only a few days after recovering from a car accident, once again highlighting the dedication and passion she has shown for the sport.
