Five expats arrested for selling contraband cigarettes in Oman

Muscat: Five expats of “Asian nationality” have been arrested for attempting to sell 1,100 boxes of illegal, banned cigarettes in Oman, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
According to officials, the accused were selling the cigarettes at their house.
In an online statement, ROP said, “The Customs Department at Al Mazyouna police station arrested five expats of Asian nationality for selling banned cigarettes at their residence.”
“1,100 boxes of illegal cigarettes were seized,” officials added.
