13 expats arrested for attempting to smuggle 40,000 litres of diesel

Muscat: A total of 13 expats were arrested when their attempt to smuggle 40,000 litres of diesel was foiled by the Coast Guard patrol, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has said.
The accused, officials revealed, were of “Asian nationality”. However, no further information on their country of origin was made available.
According to officials, the expats were attempting to smuggle 40,000 litres in Omani waters near the coast of Khasab.
An official from ROP said, “The boats were carrying thirteen Asian nationals attempting to smuggle 40,000 litres of diesel.”
