Celebrations mark Omani Environment Day

Sohar: The Ministry of Manpower yesterday launched the Sultanate’s celebrations to mark the Omani Environment Day which falls on January 8.
An event was organised yesterday by the Environment and Climate Affairs Administration in the Governorate of North Al Batinah at Majan Hall in the Wilayat of Sohar.
The event was sponsored by His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki bin Mahmoud Al Said in the presence of Najeeb bin Ali Al Rowas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs and a number of walis, honourable members of the State Council, Majlis Al Shura, public and private officials.
The event included a number of poems, and Omani traditional songs, in addition to a presentation on the Sultanate’s efforts to conserve environment. An exhibition by a number of public and private organisation on their role in preserving the Omani environment was also opened.
