Three bakeries shut down after health violations found

Muscat: Three leading bakeries were shut down in Ibri for not meeting the health requirements, Ibri Municipality has said.
According to officials, surprise inspection visits for various food establishments were conducted on Thursday morning.
In a statement, the municipality said, "In order to enhance its monitoring role in the various food establishments, Ibri Municipality continued its inspection visits to a number of bakeries in the wilayat."
It added, “The inspectors conducted a surprise inspection visit on Thursday for various food establishments. These visits resulted in the closure of three main bakeries in the wilayat. The inspection of bakeries revealed that these bakeries did not comply with the requirements of health, causing harm to the health of individuals."
Ibri Municipality will continue to implement its awareness and inspection programs on various food establishments for food control and safety, it affirmed.
