Muscat: The 11th Omani honey market will end on Saturday, December 29, at the Muscat Grand Mall.
A total of 32 beekeepers from across the Sultanate are part of the exhibition where different types of honey products are on display.
This market, which is organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in cooperation with PDO, is based on the interest of the beekeeping sector and the development of the food security sector, encouraging beekeepers, achieving economic returns, developing their skills and educating consumers about quality honey products and honey production.
Statistics of the agricultural sector in 2017 indicate that the number of bee hives in the Sultanate reached about 100,000 cells producing about 485,000 kilograms of honey.
