Muscat: Oman's embassy in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta has called for its citizens to exercise caution following a tsunami that has left several dead and has caused heavy damage in the Southeast Asian archipelago.
In a statement posted online, the embassy said, "The Embassy calls on Omani citizens to exercise caution and to communicate with the Embassy in case of emergency at + 62816100002."
The tsunami following a volcanic eruption killed at least 168 people when it slammed without warning into popular beaches around Indonesia's Sunda Strait on Saturday night.
