MUSCAT: A number of players of the National Tennis Team for Juniors participating in the GCC Tennis Championship at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex entered into the second round.
Oman is hosting the under-14 and under-18 championship from December 22-29.
In the matches played yesterday, Munir Al Rawahi won his match against Ghanim Al Khalifi of Qatar in the under-18 by 6-2 and 6-1, Abdullah Al Raisi thrashed Said Al Kawari of Qatar 6-0 and 7-6 in the under-18 and Zakariya Al Sulaimani won his match against Talal Abdulaziz of Kuwait 6-2 and 6-3, in the under-18 category. In the under-14 category, Marwan Al Khanjari won his match against Abdulwahab Abdullah of Kuwait 6-1 and 6-0.
On the other hand, Abdulridha Jasim Al Gharib, Chairman of the GCC Organising Committee of the GCC Tennis Championship for Juniors said: “The championship is of great significance to players of different age groups taking part in the championship and represents an environment for identifying the talent and the performance of players.”
