Muscat: Maysoon Al Rawahi, the 11-year-old popularly known as the 'cancer-fighter' in Oman, passed away on Monday after a long battle with the disease.
Maysoon was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2016, but after treatment she was cancer free for a while. Three months later the disease returned affecting another part of her body and she was diagnosed with lung cancer.
The 11-year-old was well-known in Oman. She fought her disease bravely and was known as the “cancer fighter” in the Sultanate's anti-cancer campaign. She also had over 45,000 followers on Instagram.
