Muscat: The main committee of the Oman Vision 2040 held its ninth meeting, chaired by His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture and head of the main committee, at the Diplomatic Club yesterday.
Several high-ranking officials and members of the committee also attended the meeting.
The members reviewed the progress of the vision committee’s previous meeting, and presented the new Oman Vision 2040 identity to the attending members.
The ongoing preparations for the Oman 2040 National Conference, that is to be held at the end of January 2019, were also examined during the meeting.
In addition, the committee discussed the outcome of the Oman 2040 Target-Setting Workshop held last week, which saw a wide community participation of more than 180 stakeholders who worked together on setting the vision’s targets.
Civil society role
Moreover, education policies and the role of civil society institutions were also discussed, as well as the analysis of the suggested initiatives aimed to help guarantee the realisation of the vision.
The committee also made a number of required decisions and recommendations regarding the items on the meeting’s agenda.
