Muscat: An expat worker has been fined OMR500 in Masirah, the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has announced.
The expat, according to officials, was found guilty of storing illegal cigarettes in the house that he was renting.
PACP said, "The Department received a report stating that an expatriate worker had stored non-conforming cigarettes in the house he was renting. After confirming the report, the house was raided in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police in Masirah, after obtaining the permission of the Public Prosecution Department. Accordingly, the required procedures were taken. An administrative fine of OMR 500 was imposed.”
