Oman’s National Museum adds 2,000-year-old artefact to its collection

Muscat: Oman’s National Museum has added a 2,000-year old artefact - a tripartite stone - to its collection.
The tripartite stone can be found along the coastal area of the Southern and Eastern Arabian Peninsula, from Hadramout in Yemen to Ras Al Hadd in Oman.
The triangular stone formations are associated with a large circular fire drill dating back to the Late Iron Age.
Flat stones
These formations consist of three vertical flat stones that form a little pyramid and are often arranged in rows on the sides of dry waterways and old trade routes.
