10 female expats arrested for committing ‘immoral acts’ in Oman

Muscat: A total of 10 expat women have been arrested for “violating the residence law and committing acts contrary to public morals”, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced
According to police, the arrests were made in Sohar.
The women, police revealed, were of “Asian nationality”. However, no information on their country of origin was made available.
In a statement online, ROP said: “The Criminal Investigation Department, led by the North Batinah Governorate police, has arrested 10 women of Asian nationality for violating the Law of residence of foreigners and for committing acts against morality and public morals in the state of Sohar.”
Officials added that legal action has been taken against the accused.
