US offers $5Mn for information on people behind 26/11 Mumbai attacks

Muscat: The US government is offering a $5 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of anyone involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has announced.
In a statement paying tribute to the victims of the attack on its 10th anniversary, Pompeo said, "The United States is committed to seeing that those responsible for this attack face justice. The Department of State Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Programme is offering a new reward for up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest or conviction of any individual who was involved in planning or facilitating the 2008 Mumbai attack.
He also said, "We call upon all countries, particularly Pakistan, to uphold their UN Security Council obligations to implement sanctions against the terrorists responsible for this atrocity, including Lashkar-e-tayyiba and its affiliates".
On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists reached India by sea route and opened fire indiscriminately at people, killing 166, including 18 security personnel, and injuring several others.
The attack lasted until 29 November. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the Oberoi Trident, the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital, the Nariman House were some of the places targetted by the terrorists.
