Equestrian: Oman takes part in FEI meeting in Bahrain

MUSCAT: The Sultanate, represented by Oman Equestrian Federation (OEF), has participated in the meeting of the International Equestrian Federation, held in Manama, Bahrain.
The Omani delegation to the meeting comprised Sayyid Munther bin Saif Al Busaidi, chairman of the Board of Oman Equestrian Federation and Ahmed bin Saif Al Abri, chairman of the competitions committee at (OEF).
The meeting discussed a number of issues related to equestrian sports which fall under the umbrella of the International Equestrian Federation and which are exercised in the Sultanate such as endurance and showjumping.
A total of 119 countries took part in the meeting.
During the general meeting a new chairmanship term for the current president of the International Equestrian Federation, Ingmar De Vos, has been approved along with the renewal of the chairmanship of the seventh group of the International Equestrian Federation chaired by Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa for a second term.
Japan has presented the meeting with a detailed dossier for hosting the Olympics in 2019 which included the logistics and technical preparations for the Olympic village and the venues of the different sports.
The meeting approved North Korea joining the membership of the International Equestrian Federation. The meeting also approved the administrative and financial reports for the years 2014-2018 and the schedule of the international championships for 2019 and venues for holding such championships.
On the sidelines of the meeting, chairman of Oman Equestrian Federation met with a number of his counterparts of the equestrian federations where they exchanged views on a number of equestrian sports and the systems regulating the same, among other issues
