Visitors flock to tourist spots during holidays

Muscat: Tourist destinations in Oman witnessed a surge in visitors over the five-day holiday.
According to the Tourism Ministry, “Some 13,317 people visited the water ponds at Wadi Bani Khalid in North Sharqiyah Governorate from November 20 to 23.”
“The wilayats of South Al Sharqiyah governorate witnessed tourist arrivals since the beginning of the National Day holidays. The occupancy rate in the tourism establishments was 100 per cent,” the ministry added.
Additionally, South Al Sharqiyah Tourism Forum witnessed a turnout of more than 3,000 visitors a day.
The forum and the event which concluded yesterday witnessed a number of entertainment programmes and folklore shows.
On the other hand, employees at the centre of tourist information in the wilayat Khasab distributed maps and guides to 845 tourists who visited the wilayat during the holidays, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
