Muscat: Around 1,000 volunteers recently came together to clean up waste on a nearly 60 km-long stretch of beach in Oman.
The clean up took place at a beach in Al Ashkarah in Sourth Sharqiyah, with plastic and fishing nets among the trash that they picked up. Citizens and expats of various age groups took part in the drive, covering a stretch of 59 km.
Municipal authorities in South Sharqiyah Governorate said, "The campaign was organised in cooperation with the Sufara Al Ata team, the Municipality of Jalan Bani Bu Ali, and with the participation of volunteers, expatriate communities, families and people from all governorates of the Sultanate."
