One dead, another injured in accident in Oman

Muscat: One person has died and another one has been injured after their car collided with a truck on Monday morning, the Royal Oman Police have announced.

According to officials, the incident occurred on the Nizwa-Muscat road. The accident has caused heavy traffic in the direction of Muscat.

An ROP official said, “An accident occurred today. It was caused by a collision between a truck coming from A'Dhakiliyah and a taxi. The accident resulted in the death of the taxi driver and the injury of the passenger."

Officials said that the accident took place a little ahead of Al Jafnain. According to the statement by ROP, "A truck has overturned on the cement triangle along the Nizwa-Muscat road, in the direction of Muscat. The accident took place just before Al Jafnain, and has caused heavy traffic. Please exercise caution."
