Consumer watchdog in Oman helps two people recover over OMR49,000

Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) in Oman has helped two consumers recover OMR49,260.
The consumers filed complaints after the cars they bought developed mechanical issues and didn't work well even after repairing them, authorities have said.
A statement by PACP read, "The complaints department at the authority received complaints from two consumers, each of whom purchased a vehicle. After receiving their purchases, the cars exhibited consecutive faults, which did not disappear even after the vehicles were repaired. That drove them to file complaints.
“PACP then reached out to the dealerships and managed to negotiate friendly settlements, which resulted in the return of OMR41,760 to one consumer and OMR7,500 to the second," the statement added.
