Three arrested for theft in Oman

Muscat: Three people were arrested for stealing equipment from boats in two wilayats, the Royal Oman Police has announced.

In a statement online, the police said: “The Royal Oman police has been following what has been circulating across social media regarding complaints related to the theft of engines, fuel tanks and batteries from the boats a number fishermen in some wilayats in North Al Batinah.”

The statement added that “police stations in the area have received a number of reports from the wilayats of Shinas and Al Suwaiq.”

As a result, “three people were arrested in light of the reports, and legal proceedings were taken against them.”
