44 illegal expat workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 44 illegal expat workers were arrested in different parts of Muscat, the Ministry of Manpower has announced.

The inspection team that made the arrests, said that 30 of the detained workers were women. The accused were found violating provisions of the Labour Law.

In a statement online, the Ministry said, “The inspection team in Muscat managed to arrest 44 illegal expat workers. 30 of those arrested were women. The [accused were detained for] violating labour laws in the wilayats of Seeb, Bausher and Mutrah.”

According to the Ministry, legal action will be taken against the violators.
