Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4415.02 points, down by 0.22 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 601.31 points, down by 0.03 per cent. Gulf Invest Services Holding was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Majan College up by 9.87 per cent while the top loser was Gulf Invest Services Holding which closed lower by 2.41 per cent.
A total number of 227 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR761,000 with more than 3.76 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 3 advanced, 9 declined and 27 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net buyers for OMR130,000 followed by GCC and Arab investors for OMR21,000 while Omani investors remained as net sellers for OMR151,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.02 per cent at 6923.56 points. Al Anwar Holding and HSBC Bank Oman were up by 0.98 per cent and 0.85 per cent respectively. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Oman United Insurance, Bank Sohar and Bank Muscat were down by 2.41 per cent, 1.3 per cent, 0.8 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.09 per cent to close at 5315.34 points. There were no gainers on Monday. Galfar Engineering was down by 1 per cent.
Services Index lost 0.26 per cent to close at 2394.32 points. Majan College was up by 9.87 per cent. Phoenix Power, Omantel and Al Jazeera Services were down by 1.79 per cent, 1 per cent and 0.95 per cent repectively.
