Expats arrested for selling illegal cigarettes, possessing alcohol

Muscat: Four expats in Oman have been arrested for attempting to sell 358 boxes of illegal cigarettes, and for possessing alcohol, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.
In the first case, officials arrested one expat of “Asian” nationality in the Wilayat of Diba. Officials said, “The Customs Department at Diba arrested an Asian national on charges of selling illegal cigarettes. A total of 358 boxes of cigarettes were seized.
In the second case, three “Arab” nationals were arrested for the illegal possession of alcoholic beverages. The accused were also found under the influence of alcohol, Royal Oman Police reported on Monday.
An official source said, "The Investigation Department of Diba Police Station arrested three Arabs on charges of possessing alcoholic beverages in Wadi Al Baih of Diba.”
