Oman Majlis panel discusses 2019 budget draft

Muscat: The social and economic aims of the draft state budget for 2019 were discussed at a meeting of a high-level panel of the Majlis Al Shura on Sunday.
The Majlis Al Shura Economic and Financial Committee hosted Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance and Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahib, Deputy Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning to discuss the draft budget for the fiscal year 2019.
The draft budget was referred to the panel by the government. The panel reviewed the most important items in the draft budget.
During the meeting, which was chaired by Dr. Saleh bin Said Messan, Chairman of the Committee, the Committee continued its study for the draft state budget of the fiscal year 2019.
It discussed the social and economic aims of the budget, the bases for making the calculations and other subjects related to the draft budget.
The meeting also reviewed the most important expected outcomes for 2018 budget.
