MUSCAT: Oman National Tent Pegging Team returned to the Sultanate after securing the third place and bronze medal in the 3rd World Tent Pegging Cup Championship organised in Abu Dhabi.
The Board of Directors and a number of officials from the Royal Cavalry and heads of the committee received the team members on their arrival.
The team members have expressed their delight at the reception which came in recognition for their efforts at the 3rd World Tent Pegging Cup Championship.
Regarding the overall results of the three days of competition, Egypt claimed the gold medal with 533 points, followed by South Africa in second place with 522 points, and in third place was Oman with 470 points, the fourth place went to Saudi Arabia with 464.5 points, Sudan took the fifth place with 451 points, India claimed the sixth spot with 442 points, in the seventh place was Pakistan with 423 points, Jordan came ninth with 410 points, UAE was placed tenth with 394.5 points and the eleventh place went to Norway with 302. 5 points.
The overall results for the singles are as follows; Mahmoud Zagzoug, Egypt, 148 points; Nasser Hussain, Pakistan, 147.5 points; and Ghali Safi, Egypt, 139 points.
