Muscat: A citizen in Oman has been arrested for possessing 45,000 narcotics tablets and 18 kg of marijuana, the Royal Oman Police has announced.
Police found the drugs when they arrested the man in the governorate of Musandam. Officials also revealed that the accused was in contact with an international crime gang.
According to a statement by ROP, "The Department of Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances in Musandam, along with the special task force, led by the Royal Oman Police in Northern al Battinah, were able to arrest a citizen for possessing narcotics with the intent of selling them.
"The suspect was connected to an international crime group, and was arrested in possession of 18 kilograms of marijuana, as well as 45,000 tablets of narcotics,” the statement read.
