Oman lost the first game of their Asian Cup campaign as they fell 1-2 against Uzbekistan in Sharjah.
The White Wolves took the lead in the 34th minute of the game. Odil Ahmedoov scored from a free kick to put his team ahead with 11 minutes to go in the first half.
But the Red Warriors would fight back. Super sub Muhsin Al Ghassani scored seconds after coming onto the pitch, putting Oman back in the game in the 72nd minute.
However, Eldor Shomurodov would have the last word, scoring to retake the lead for Uzbekistan with just five minutes of regular time left.
The victory puts Uzbekistan level on points with Japan in Group F as Oman fall into last place on goal difference.
