MUSCAT: The Red Warriors face Uzbekistan in Sharjah as they aim for the brightest start possible in the 2019 AFC Cup.
The 23rd Arabian Gulf Cup champions won their last two encounters against Uzbekistan, beating them twice with a scoreline of 1-0 in May 2014. The last time Uzbekistan defeated Oman was all the way back in September 2001.
Oman will be looking to make it to the knockout stages for the first time in four appearances at the tournament.
