Daleel 1010 introduces first of its kind app

MUSCAT: Daleel 1010, Oman’s first Smart Information Guide, demonstrated the look and feel of its soon-to-be launched Daleel 1010 application during the Omantel Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Summit.
The summit was held on October 22 at the Grand Ballroom of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, under the auspices of Dr Ahmed Mohammed Salem Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications.
Plans call for Daleel 1010 to launch its food delivery service across phone and web platforms, as well as on its all-new app in November.
“As the first integrated service of its kind in the Sultanate, we felt that the ICT Summit was the perfect platform to demonstrate the all-new Daleel 1010 offering. Surrounded by ICT leaders, we were able to demonstrate not only the impact of digital acceleration on the mobile economy, but also the unique way our app was bringing consumers and merchants together,” said Mohammed Al Maskari, CEO of Infoline, the company that developed Daleel 1010 in a joint initiative with Omantel, adding that, “I look forward to everyone using Daleel 1010 on a daily basis to partake of its benefits, thus enabling it to become the preferred search engine in the region.”
During the summit, Daleel 1010 introduced its new concept and demonstrated the look and feel of its new app and website.
The company revealed that the application can also be used to help consumers book car services for pickup and drop-off services, book car detailing and other vehicle related solutions.
The app additionally allows users to compare similar choices and, accordingly, make decisions that suit them, including the option of keeping to a specific budget.
Speaking during the demo, Gurpreet Singh Ahuja, Country Head-Strategic Initiatives, Infoline, commented,
“In an era where technology has become a critical factor in the success of organisations, it is essential to establish direct communication channels between the business community and consumers.
Daleel 1010 is in-line with the Sultanate’s constant endeavour to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy, a key element being the implementation of modern technologies for the service of the community.”
Omantel’s ICT Summit is a pioneering annual event and attracts leading technological companies and merchants under one roof.
The guide’s database contains over 168,000 businesses in the Sultanate, covering 6,500 categories and more than 3,000 brands that customers can choose from, free of charge.
