Oman's share index ends marginally higher

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended higher to close at 4453.97 points, up by 0.02 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 604.05 points, up by 0.06 per cent. Oman Chlorine was the most active in terms of volume and in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Raysut Cement, up by 3.09 per cent while the top loser was Oman National Engine. Invt. which closed lower by 2.86 per cent.
A total number of 329 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR1.27 million with more than 7.29 million shares changing hands. Out of 30 traded stocks, 4 advanced, 14 declined and 12 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net sellers for OMR111,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR31,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net buyers for OMR143,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index remained unchanged at 6921.85 points. Al Madina Investment and Bank Dhofar, both went up by 2.56 per cent. Gulf Invest Services Holding, Bank Nizwa, Al Sharqia Investment Holding, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat were down by 2.35 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.06 per cent, 0.96 per cent and 0.47 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index gained 0.08 per cent to close at 5,361.38 points. Raysut Cement was up by 3.09 per cent. Oman Chlorine, Oman Fisheries and Al Galfar Engineering were down by 2.67 per cent, 1.3 per cent and 0.98 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.32 per cent to close at 2,435.81 points. Dhofar Generating Company was up by 0.46 per cent. Oman National Engineering & Investment, Al Suwadi Power, OIFC, Phoenix Power and Omantel were down by 2.86 per cent, 1.69 per cent, 1.1 per cent, 0.89 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively.
